Donald Trump Posts Thanksgiving Message of Hate and Resentment, Denigrates NY AG Letitia James and Judge Engoron

0

Donald Trump posted this message of hate and resentment overnight.

What is Trump thankful for? Nothing. He just hates everyone, especially NY Attorney General Letitia James and Judge Arthur Engoron.

This is result of

New York state Judge Judge David Friedman lifting the gag order that prevented Trump from attacking members of the court. (I am embarrassed, frankly, that we share a last name — we would never be related.)
Joe Biden today spoke of how great Americans are and what we have achieved.

Adele May Be Married But She’s Not in the Top 20 Female Artists of 2023 According to Billboard

0

Congrats to Adele. There’s a rumor that she “confirmed” her marriage to sports agent Rich Paul recently. Also, she’s got more sold out dates in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace.

Well, you can’t have everything. Billboard posted the top 20 female artists of 2023 and guess who’s not on it?

Adele is one of the least prolific recording artists of all time. She let six years go between her last two albums. Now two years have passed since her

“30” album, which wasn’t that great and not nearly as big a seller as “25.”
If only Adele would work with a great producer, choose important songs, try some new things, maybe put out a single here and there. Then she would be back on the list.

as for songwriters, what happened to her main guy, Paul Epworth? She needs him without a doubt.

CBS Evening News Forgets to Mention Walter Cronkite on 60th Anniversary of Him Breaking JFK Assassination News

0

CBS News, you forgot that Walter Cronkite interrupted the news on November 22, 1963 to tell us JFK had been killed.

It’s maybe the most important media news announcement in history. The world changed at that moment and never got better.

“As the World Turns” was broadcasting live at 1:30pm on CBS. Yes, a “live” show. Around 1:40pm, Cronkite broke in so fast the logo went up before he was seen on screen.

Why is the Cronkite announcement such a big deal? There were only three network channels then. “As the World Turns” had millions of viewers. Cronkite was already the dean of network news.

CBS News made a big mistake tonight. They should have said something. That moment defined CBS News for the next 20 years at least.

Here’s what happened.

RIP Phil Quartararo, Legendary Record Exec, 67, aka Phi Q, Worked With Every A List Act, from Linkin Park to Paula Abdul to Janet Jackson

0

I am really sad to write that Phil Quartararo has died.

The former head of several record companies including Warner Bros. and Virgin Records, Phil worked with every major act in the business including Linkin Park, the Spice Girls, Janet Jackson, and the Rolling Stones.

Just 67 years old, Phil was beloved in the business. (Apparently, to quote Billy Joel, only the good die young.) His presence lit up every ballroom or convention or concert. He was one of the few people that when you saw him coming, you were actually happy.

According to Wikipedia, Phil directed the marketing and launch of recordings of Coldplay, Norah Jones, Blake Shelton, the Beach Boys, and the Beatles. He was involved with marketing the estate catalogs of the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Les Paul.

At different times, Phil ran Warner Music, EMI, and Virgin Records. In heaven, he’s going to see a lot of our old pals in the music biz who we’ve lost recently and too soon like Kenny DeCamillo and Jerry Blair. Unreal. But the skies will be bursting with good music and great stories.

Unreal. Condolences to Phil’s family.

NBC Won’t Be Officially Divulging Linear aka Network Same Night Ratings for “Saturday Night Live” Anymore

0

The times, they are a-changing.

Until two weeks ago, it was always possible to get ratings on the following Tuesday for “Saturday Night Live.”

Alas, no more.

I’m told by NBC insiders that they will now only divulge a total rating on Thursday for the prior weekend. That number will include delayed viewing on DVR and on Peacock. We will not know how many people actually watched the show on Saturday night on the broadcast channel.

At least, the numbers won’t come from NBC, as they have in the past.

I’m reminded that NBC stopped giving overnight numbers a couple of years ago. And that’s true. We were waiting 48 hours to get delayed viewing then as well. But now it’s possible NBC will not sharing much data at all unless it’s bundled with a lot of other things.

This situation may lead to no numbers for the public at all. Cable is reticent to divulge anything. Syndicated shows have stopped giving their numbers. Streaming — like Netflix or Apple– offers nothing. They have no transparency whatsoever. They say it’s because they don’t want to embarrass their stars. But we know it’s avoid admitting what is and isn’t popular.

It took all of last week to get the number for the Timothee Chalamet episode of “SNL” — it was 6 million including people who watched it with tin foil hats. The linear number was probably more like 4.5 million. This past weekend’s Jason Momoa show might be available soon.

Box Office: Tuesday Previews Point to Disappointing Holiday Week Debuts for Disney’s “Wish,” Sony’s “Napoleon”

0

Hollywood has one thing to give thanks for tomorrow: the strikes are over.

At the same time, the movie biz doesn’t look like it will have a very profitable holiday week with two new releases: Disney’s “Wish,” and Sony’s “Napoleon” (with Apple).

Last night’s previews were pretty disappointing, although that may have had a lot to do with the terrible weather conditions for most of the country.

“Wish” made just $2.3 million. “Napoleon” took in $3 million.

Will things improve tonight and over the weekend? Both studios hope so, by a lot. Unfortunately, reviews for both movies are lukewarm. “Wish” now has the lowest rating of any Disney animated film ever, just 48%. “Napoleon” is better at 65%, but not very inspiring to get people out of their houses.

It looks like the big winners this weekend will be more Taylor Swift and “Hunger Games.” We’ll see what happens.

PS I’m told that one of the weird parts of “Napoleon” is that Joaquin Phoenix is pretty tall. Napoleon was famously short, and as my friend Bill McCuddy pointed out, there’s a whole complex named for him. At least he’s got the hat!

Daryl Hall v. John Oates: Possible Reason for TRO, Flashback to 1985 Article That Shut Them Down First Time

0

Big news from TMZ today that Daryl Hall, one of the least liked pop musicians of all time, has filed for a Temporary Restraining Order against his business and music collaborator of 50 years, John Oates. Hall is also suing Oates, and both cases are sealed in a Nashville court.

TMZ only speculates why Hall has gone against Oates, a move that should finish them off as a group. Years ago they split up, but then reunited as a touring act for the money. Otherwise, they’ve had nothing to do with each other for decades.

You don’t remember this, but the Hall and Oates hit making machine has been over since the mid 80s. They gave what is now an historic interview to Rolling Stone’s Lynn Hirschberg that put all the nails in the coffin.

Here’s an excerpt:

“It’s weird,” Hall says, without a trace of irony. “I’m just about the best singer I know, and it’s time for everybody to say that. I have total facility with my voice. And for some weird reason, critics don’t talk about it. Americans think that if you’re popular there must be something wrong with you. To me, the best music now is music that everyone’s listening to. Obscurity is just obscurity. There’s no romance in obscurity.” Hall pauses to spear some more pasta. This subject clearly frustrates him; Oates shrugs it off.“I think we’re the Eighties Beatles,” Hall continues. “If we had been born twenty years earlier, maybe the world would have seen that. There’s something about our personalities that is very Lennon-and-McCartneyesque. And there is something about the body of work that we both have that’s similar.” Hall pauses again. “I know people will have trouble accepting that,” he says finally. “But I don’t have any trouble accepting it.”

Stories about Hall and his personal life have been around for years, especially about his one time girlfriend and co-writer, Sara Allen, and her sister, Jana, who died in 1993 from leukemia. Hall was also married for six years, from 2009 to 2015, to British socialite Amanda Aspinall. She filed for divorce but died from an apparent heart attack before it was finalized.

Hall and Oates have always had a contentious relationship, with Hall nearly always trying to downplay Oates’ contribution to their hits. But Hall has never been able to have a successful solo career despite making a few albums by himself. That alone may fuel his anger toward his partner.

“You think John Oates is my partner? … He’s my business partner,” Hall said last year. “He’s not my creative partner.” He announced last year that their time together was over.

What could be happening now? John Oates published a dry memoir in 2017 that didn’t give much personal juice about his relationship with Hall, or anything about their lives beyond the hits and the shows. The book ends around the year 2000. With the relationship totally broken, Oates may be ready to write the real book and set the facts straight. Hall could very well be trying to stop that, although he won’t have much luck. Oates can write his own story, assert the truth, and so on, just like Britney Spears. Hall could try and prevent him from using lyrics to their songs or prevent Oates from discussing him at all. There’s plenty that hasn’t been written.

Paris Hilton Family Connections Cause Trouble for Elon Musk as Heiress Pulls Advertising from Twitter: Sister Nikki Is Married to a Rothschild

0

Elon Musk may finally get the message that antisemitism isn’t a good look for him.

Paris Hilton’s company has pulled all their ads from Twitter X just a month after making a splashy announcement. Paris was trotted out by Twitter X CEO Linda Yaccarino, who trumpeted her excitement about going into business with the famed heiress and businesswoman. She wrote on Twitter on October 2nd:

“The queen of pop culture, music, business, and TV is #Sliving on X. @ParisHilton welcome to the @X family, we’re excited to launch an official partnership with you and your next-gen media company 11:11. Together we’re going to create a launchpad for new initiatives in video and live video, live commerce, Spaces, and so much more. Let’s do this!!”

Now, it’s all over. You may wonder why Paris Hilton would have any particular interest in what Musk says about anything. Here’s one likely explanation: Paris’s sister, Nikki Hilton, has married since 2015 to James Rothschild, a great grandson of the legendary family of bankers and winemakers. They have three children. The Rothschilds are famously Jewish — and founding Zionists — going back generations. James’s father, Amschel Rothschild, who died in 1996, was most certainly Jewish. (James’s mother is Anita Guinness, who is Irish by birth.)

According to his biography, Amschel’s only son, James, “is a Trustee of Yad Hanadiv (the Rothschild Foundation) where he also serves on the Finance and Audit Committee. Yad Hanadiv continues the tradition of Rothschild family philanthropy in Israel, where it was responsible for the Supreme Court and Knesset buildings in Jerusalem.”

In other words, what Musk has allowed to thrive and prosper on his social media platform is anathema to Paris’s sister’s in-laws. You may think Paris and Nikki are just tabloid queens, but they are quite smart and serious. They are also extremely close. While Paris has done very well for herself in business, the Rothschilds are on a different level financially than the Hiltons — and I mean all the Hiltons. Her retreat from Musk is obvious.

It should come as no surprise that the Rothschilds are livid about what’s going on in the world, not to mention on Twitter. Musk has allowed antisemitism to grow on Twitter like a cancer, letting neo Nazis spout hatred and misinformation. Last week, Musk gave his approval to a post on his site to an antisemitic conspiracy theory popular among White supremacists: that Jewish communities push “hatred against Whites.”

Musk commented on a post last Wednesday that said Jewish communities “have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them.” The post also stated that “hordes of minorities” flooding Western countries, a conspiracy theory used by antisemites.

Musk Tweeted: “You have said the actual truth.”

Dozens of major advertisers dumped Twitter X instantly including most entertainment companies and even IBM.

“11:11 Media made the decision to immediately pull the campaign from the platform,” Bruce Gersh, 11:11 Media’s president and chief operating officer, said in a statement.

Elon Musk may have finally his match in this situation more than any other. The Rothschilds are incredibly influential throughout the business world. And that is the “actual truth.”

The repercussions of his statements and activities are just being signaled by Paris cutting him off to the millions she could have brought to Twitter. Look for more dominoes to fall now as further ad money disappears from the platform now that Musk has revealed himself.

Everyone should be proud of Paris Hilton. I know I am.

Dolly Parton Eyeing Number 1 Debut Ever with “Rockstar”Album After Saying She Wasn’t a Rock Star

0

Dolly Parton is about to have a breakthrough after half a century.

Parton’s “Rockstar” album is going to debut at number 1 later this week with 140,000 copies sold. She’s jumped ahead of contemporary acts like Taylor Swift and Drake.

Remember when Dolly said she declined being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? She said she wasn’t a rock artist.

But then her mind was changed and she was voted right in.

By coincidence she decided to make an album of classic rock songs with the people who originated them.

And now, it’s number 1! And it’s pretty good! Guests include Sting, Paul and Ringo, Steven Tyler, Miley Cyrus, and Linda Perry on “What’s Up”!

After All These Years: SHOF Still Doesn’t Include Steely Dan, Heart, Blondie, Bread, Doobies or George Clinton, Kenny Loggins

0

You have to ask yourself: how is this possible?

After all these years of gala dinners and hoopla the following songwriters are still not in the Songwriters Hall of Fame:

Steely Dan, Heart, Blondie, the Doobie Brothers, George Clinton, or David Gates from Bread? Really? The Guess Who?

All of these groups have been “nominated for induction” this year. Just put them all in.

Not to mention REM and Tracey Chapman (who will get in this year, absolutely because “Fast Car” was revived on the country charts).

And then there’s Narada Michael Walden, Chuck D and Public Enemy, and Maurice Starr. Plus Bryan Adams, Timbaland.

How is it possible that Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter, who wrote all these songs — Ain’t No Woman (Like The One I’ve Got), Don’t Pull Your Love, Nightshift, One Tin Soldier (Theme from Billy Jack), and We Built This City — weren’t in a long time ago?

David Gates, 82, had more than a dozen top 10 hits with Bread in the 1970s that are still played now.

Back on the nominees list is Tony Macaulay, who wrote top 70s hits like Baby Now That I’ve Found You, Build Me Up Buttercup, Don’t Give Up On Us, Last Night I Didn’t Get To Sleep At All, Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) . He’ll be 80 soon. Should we wait til they’re dead?

Unfortunately the SHOF voting tends to be dependent on publishing companies pushing their people in. Tracy Chapman is already a cinch. My guess is Timbaland and Chuck D will each somehow get in no matter what.

As for all the others I mentioned at the top, this is kind of ridiculous. Kenny Loggins? Again, a dozen or more hits solo and with Jim Messina.
