Jami Floyd’s byline is one New Yorkers knew from radio station WNYC and Gothamist.com. But apparently for over a decade she was cribbing from Wikipedia and elsewhere. Floyd was a lawyer and former local host of the National Public Radio news program “All Things Considered.” She was also a senior editor of WNYC’s race and justice unit.
The New York Times reported last November that Floyd had been indiscriminate in repurposing their material and others’. Now the radio station and website have purged 41 articles from their archives. They posted this notice:
WNYC has removed 41 articles from WNYC.org and four stories from Gothamist.com due to violations of our editorial standards. Forty-two of the stories that were removed were found to contain unattributed passages from other sources. The other three stories were published on other websites by the author. No fabricated facts were found in the stories, which were by a single author and published between 2010 and 2021.
