Robert De Niro won’t be too happy when he sees the latest campaign video from Donald Trump.
Trump posted “American Home” to his Rumble account today and it includes a clip from De Niro from “Silver Linings Playbook” that is totally unlicensed. The video, from Iranian director Damian Imani, includes dozens of unlicensed clips including some from the movie “Fargo,” “Napoleon Dynamite,” and other hits. There are images of Uma Thurman, Dennis Hopper, Elliot Page (when he was Ellen), and other actors who will certainly object to the usage. Expect take-down notices, cease and desist letters, and maybe lawsuits over this one.
“American Home” is also set to the song “Proud to be An American” be Lee Greenwood, one of the great Republican conservative anthems of all time. But it’s unclear if Trump has permission from Greenwood or if the singer will also be provoked to take action.
