Weekend Box Office: “Blink Twice,” 2 Others Flop, “It Ends with Us” Begins Cool Down, “Deadpool” Still Number 1

It was not a landmark weekend at the box office.

Three new entries all flopped big time. None of them got close to $8 million.

“Blink Twice” came in at $7.3 million. “The Forge” was at $6.6 million, and “The Crow” flew low at $4.6 million.

Still number 1: “Deadpool and Wolverine.”

Fading now after unexpected success, and scandal: “It Ends with Us,” down another 50% from last week. “Ends” has made $120 million, certainly broken even, and guaranteed that its sequel will be made once Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively buy the book rights from Justin Baldoni.

“Blink Twice” is a horror movie gone wrong on every level. It’s a write off. The odd thing about it, as with so many movies these days, is that a clear eyed look at the script would have saved it. The production values are very high, the movie has a stylish look. Zoe Kravitz didn’t do a bad job and neither did the actors. But the story is a mess, with models drinking snake venom after they’ve been raped…Oy vey.
