Trump Says Barron College in “Empire State” — NYU? Or Will He Be Stashed Upstate Somewhere?

Share

Donald Trump has just said that son Barron, 18, will be going to college in “the Empire State.”

That means New York, but doesn’t specify which school or where it is.

Will Barron attend New York University? Their freshman orientation begins at the end of the week.

Or does it mean somewhere upstate? Syracuse maybe? Or a small liberal arts school?

It’s hard to imagine Barron bunking in a college dorm room, unless it’s very posh. For one thing, at six foot seven he’d need a custom bed.

If he is going to NYU, then he could live at home in Trump Tower with his mother, and be close to his other home in Bedminster, New Jersey. That would make the most sense, although his presence in Washington Square would create a traffic and security nightmare.

New York also seems an odd choice for the son of avowed conservative who hates the city and everyone in it. Trump just sent a veiled threat to Gov. Kathy Hochul on social media today. He said he was most offended by her comments last night at the DNC. You’d think he’d want Gov. Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams to be on his side if his son is going to under public scrutiny in their town.

What about a liberal arts college upstate? It’s hard to imagine Barron going anywhere with the word ‘liberal’ involved. Having only gone to schools for rich white kids, he would have to adjust to accept a wide variety of people who would never be invited to Mar-a-Lago. That would be a jolting change to his life.

So we’ll wait and see where young Barron begins his formal education.
