Oscars to Win Emmy for Being the Tony’s: Neil Patrick Harris Finally Gets to Host

Share

Drum roll please. At last, Neil Patrick Harris will host the Oscars. The Tony Award winning (“Hedwig”) television star (“How I Met Your Mother”) has hosted just about everything else, most especially the Tony Awards. His Tony shows have won Emmys, and now his Oscar show will win an Emmy for being like the Tony Awards.

It’s going to be the most musical Oscars of all time as Craig Zadan and Neil Meron return again to co-produce the show. With NPH aboard, you can already imagine the numbers for “Foxcatcher,” “Unbroken,” “Imitation Game,” or “Birdman.” Really, NPH could be the new wave Billy Crystal. But now, who will host the Tony Awards?

The Academy Awards, which most Oscar prognosticators have already seen in their dreams, air February 22, 2015 on ABC.
